What You'll Do

• Build the frontend: Design and build large-scale, enterprise-grade front-end applications in React and TypeScript that are scalable, responsive, and cross-browser compatible.

• Own the design system: Build, scale, and maintain Certa's design system from the ground up, with semantic, accessible HTML at its core.

• Optimize performance: Improve rendering and delivery performance across our front-end applications.

• Raise the engineering bar: Set up and refine frontend tooling (bundling, linting, testing, releasing) and write automated tests to keep quality high.

• Mentor & collaborate: Mentor mid-level and junior engineers and partner with product, design, and engineering in an Agile, remote environment - using data and analytics to inform product decisions.

What You'll Need

• Core experience: 3+ years building large-scale front-end applications with React and 3+ years with type-safe JavaScript ( TypeScript ), delivering enterprise-grade quality software.

• Modern frontend ecosystem: Strong command of bundling (preferably Vite ), linting, testing, and releasing, plus automated testing ( Vitest , Cypress , Jest , Testing Library ).

• Design systems & performance: Experience building and scaling a design system from scratch, writing semantic HTML, and improving rendering and delivery performance for scalable, responsive, cross-browser apps.

• Mentorship & methodology: Track record mentoring mid-level and junior engineers and working in Agile software development.

• Environment & data: Experience in a peak-performance organization (ideally a tech startup), working with remote teams, and using data analysis and analytics to drive product decisions.

• Bonus: Integrations and data synchronization with event pub/sub models, WebGL , offline apps using Web Workers , setting up and customizing JavaScript tooling/build systems, building fully keyboard- and screen-reader-accessible applications, open-source contributions, and running your own blog.
